Geraldo Rivera didn't have much luck finding items in Al Capone's vault but I did.

• In a couple of weeks the Bruins will have only a 4th line right wing, Jimmy Hayes, and a bottom six(?) defenseman, Joe Morrow, left as assets for 24 year old Tyler Seguin. Ouch.


• The Celtics held their opponents under 100 points 60% of the time in their first 35 games (21 of 35). However, the Celts have held opponents to under 100 points only 34% of the time in their last 38 games (13 of 38). Not good if defense wins championships.


• Mookie Betts stats for his last 50 games last year. A whopping (.943) OPS.

• I keep hearing that the Bruins need to trade for a young top 2 pairing defenseman. One? That is going to solve their defensive woes? So let me get this straight. New defensemen X comes aboard and becomes the Bruins #1 stud defenseman. Who is #2? Chara has lost a Manute Bol step, Seidenberg is a shell of his former self, Krug is good on only the offensive side of the sheet, Clay Buchholz McQuaid? In addition, Colin Miller, Joe Morrow and Zac Trotman can't get off the 9th floor THIS year. Good luck Sweeney.


• Anybody ever find out where the "K" ball from the Deflategate game went? And why wasn't Stephen Gostowski suspended for not turning over his phone like Tom Brady? It is a story I will tell on another day but it has the NFL's blood all over it. It starts with the corrupt NFL Auctions and goes up the ladder.


• Are the Patriots taking this "running backs" don't matter a little too far? In their last 4 games including the playoffs they averaged 2.4 yards per carry. Brady was tied for 3rd most rushing attempts with 11. Oh, and they lost 3 out of the 4 games. Here are the Pats road graders for the last 4 games. Can I at least get an Antowain Smith type? Hell, I might even settle for Laurence Maroney. Nah, forget that.

• I don't want to alarm you but the Red Sox are paying two players a total of $30 million a ear for the next 4 years who haven't hit a HR in their last 220 combined at bats. Who are the culprits? Mr. Pablo Sandoval and Mr. Rusney Castillo. I guess $30 million doesn't buy you what it used to.
