At the time of the trade, Espinoza was considered by Baseball America to be a Top 15 prospect in all of MLB.
It got me thinking. How have these projections worked out? I went back to 2009 and looked for every pitcher that was ranked at some point in the top 15 (pre-season, mid-season, etc.)
Here are the all the pitchers with their career numbers to date.
Do you still like the Red Sox trade?
Players sorted by years played. Players that were ranked in the Top 15 at some point since 2009.
Note: Player listed with their current team. Tommy Hanson is the only pitcher out of baseball.
